Rhinoplasty Surgeon in İzmir

Choosing a Rhinoplasty Surgeon, and Why Expertise Matters

A rhinoplasty surgeon performs the delicate operations that both address aesthetic concerns and correct the structural problems — bone, soft tissue, deviation — that obstruct breathing in the nose, an organ that sits at the centre of the face and marks the beginning of respiration. Choosing that surgeon is the most critical stage of the process.

The most critical stage of a rhinoplasty is choosing your surgeon.

What to Consider When Choosing a Rhinoplasty Surgeon in İzmir

Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) is a delicate procedure intended both to resolve aesthetic concerns and to correct structural problems inside the nose — deviation, bone or soft tissue — that obstruct breathing. Because the nose lies at the very centre of the face and begins the respiratory system, the choice of surgeon is the most critical stage of the process.

In large cities in particular, the sheer number of options can make the decision difficult for patients looking for a rhinoplasty surgeon in İzmir. In this article we set out the essential criteria to weigh when choosing, along with modern approaches to rhinoplasty.

How Do You Choose the Right Rhinoplasty Surgeon?

A successful rhinoplasty begins with alignment between the patient's expectations and the surgeon's medical approach. Weighing the following criteria can help you take a sounder path:

1. ENT and aesthetic expertise

In rhinoplasty it is not enough to improve the outward appearance; the nose's primary function — healthy breathing — must also be preserved or improved. ENT expertise brings a thorough command of the internal anatomy of the nose: septal deviation, the sinuses, turbinate hypertrophy. Results that are balanced both functionally and aesthetically are far easier to achieve when these are coordinated within one specialty.

2. Experience in both closed and open techniques

In modern rhinoplasty it matters that the surgeon is not tied to a single technique, but can choose the method best suited to the patient's nasal structure.

Closed rhinoplasty: Every step is carried out from inside the nostrils, with no externally visible incision at the tip. Because the tissues are disturbed less and recovery is more comfortable, it is frequently the technique patients seek when looking for closed rhinoplasty in İzmir.

Revision rhinoplasty: This covers the correction of cases where an earlier operation did not achieve the desired result or where breathing problems persist. Revision surgery demands greater precision and experience than a first procedure.

3. An individually planned approach

Every face has its own proportions and every skin its own thickness. Applying a single standard nose, or one that suited someone else, can produce results that do not look natural. Your surgeon should plan a nose designed for you, in harmony with the rest of your face — chin, forehead and eyes.

How Does the Rhinoplasty Process Unfold?

Once the decision is made, the process generally consists of the following stages:

A detailed physical examination: The cartilage structure inside the nose, any bone deviation and the state of the soft tissue are assessed endoscopically.

Photography and analysis: Digital planning is carried out on photographs taken from several angles, and the possible outcomes suited to your features are considered.

Deciding the technique: Based on the patient's anatomy, it is determined whether open, closed or preservation (letdown) surgery will be used.

Post-operative follow-up: The removal of splints and casts, monitoring of swelling and supervision of recovery are carried out through regular appointments.

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure to correct the shape, size and function of the nose. It not only addresses appearance concerns but also resolves breathing problems.

No. Besides aesthetic concerns it is also performed for breathing problems — septum deviation, enlarged turbinates, concha bullosa and sinusitis can be corrected in the same operation.

In closed rhinoplasty no external incision is made, so no scar remains. In most open rhinoplasty cases no noticeable scar remains either.

No. Instead of the traditional packing that causes discomfort, we use perforated silicone splints. This allows our patients to breathe comfortably right after surgery.

The nose is still swollen when the cast is removed. Swelling reduces significantly by the end of the first month. The final shape settles between 6 months and 2 years depending on skin type and other factors.

At least 12 months should pass after the first operation and the tissue must heal completely. In some cases this period can extend to 18 months.
